One thing I have found to be true is this; No matter how busy you are, you will always find time for the things that are important to you. This begs to question, What is important to you? For me, it’s a myriad of things. I can be quite scatter-brained at times. Coming up with idea after idea, moving from one task to another, leaving one thing halfway done, promising myself I will return to it. Once I noticed this behavior in myself, I had to pause and think PRIORITIZE and FOCUS.

Setting goals and prioritizing tasks can be a difficult undertaking. At least for me. It requires an honest self assessment of where you are and where you want to be. We can fill our day with activity, none of which will move us closer to our goals or add any bit of profit (monetary or otherwise) to ourselves. And then we rush around saying there is no time, no time to achieve the most important goals of our lives… Learn to Prioritize.

I have the attention span of a flea… at least this is what I have been told. Paying attention can be a hard task. Don’t try to recruit me to listen to your sob story and throw a pity party. I may hurt your feelings, not with spite but just out of character. I like to move to the next chapter of things. It’s hard for me to sit and listen without concocting a plan of action. This lack of focus has helped yet hindered me, where certain things and people required more attention than I could bear to give. Some friendships have been lost, some opportunities trashed… Learn to Focus.

I am guilty, are you? One area I have been able to focus and prioritize is staying fit. It takes practice and repetition. It’s that simple. I’ll be using that in other areas of my life.

Be Well,

stop and sip the mango juice :P
