June 2nd was an unusually pleasant day in Atlanta. Typically, at this time of year, the sun would be blazing down on the inhabitants of this bustling city. Yet it was breezy and cool, much to my surprise and joy; especially because I’d be running all over downtown Atlanta searching for clues and performing activities to complete the Gorilla Challenge.
3 Hours of running, jumping, picture taking, mapping, getting lost, getting found, asking strangers questions, getting directions and pure silliness in costume make up the scavenger hunt which is the Gorilla Challenge. It also has a charitable side which benefited the local homeless shelters in Atlanta. The challenge is held all across the U.S., you may check their site here, www.gorillachallenge.com to see if it’s coming to a city near you.
Overall, it’s a lot of fun but be sure to have someone on your team who is an expert city guide. The moment you figure out the clues that tell you where the next location to go to, it is important to get there in the shortest amount of time possible. I felt sorry for my teammate because I was completely CLUELESS when it came to navigating. Sadly, we didn’t win BUT we got a good workout, had a few laughs along the way and a deeper appreciation for city maps and landmarks. I didn’t get to take pictures of all the places we had to find but here a few to give you an idea of the game. Enjoy!

It’s so exciting seeing young people having clean fun!!
