Couple of days ago, I revisited an old blog post of mine (Click here to read) and realized that I missed out on the best part of my running goals. The shopping part!

And so, I set out to revamp my work out wardrobe…

I also picked up a few more new outfits, to replace my old t-shirts and shorts looks. I must say, having stylish work out gear really put the “oomph” back in my workout routine. I did not realize how bad and dumpy my old workout gear looked… *embarrassed* Who says you shouldn’t look amazing while you perspire?

Aside from the new stuff, I decided to rework some old things and come up with new workout outfits. First I paired my favorite t-shirts and tanks with a pair of running tights and voila!

I also re-purposed an old pair of pants with a sports top to get a cute, new sporty look. The bottoms are cotton, which are not optimal for high intensity workouts (like a long run) when compared to the moisture wicking fabric in my other workout clothes.

If you’ve notice a trend here, let me explain myself. I prefer to stick with black or deeper toned clothing when I work out. These colors help sustain the life of your work out gear and prevents the discoloration that occurs from constant contact with sweat. However, don’t wear black if you plan on working out outside on a sunny day. Black absorbs light. Absorbing light converts to heat. So absorbing light causes black to get hotter. Pick a lighter color.

One more thing! I got NEW shoes finally!!!

New Running Shoes (r): Asics GT 2170

My new gear requires some breaking in, especially the shoes but I’ll look cute doing it :)
